Privacy policy
Spott3D collects nothing about you.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no profile, and no way to contact other players. The game contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising software and no device identifiers. It does not ask for your camera, your microphone, your location, your contacts or your photos.
The game contains no code that can upload anything. There is exactly one network call in it, described below, and it is a read-only request with no body.
What is stored, and where
Everything the game remembers is stored on your device and nowhere else:
- Level progress: which levels you have cleared, your best times, your attempt counts and your stars.
- Your settings.
- Your dumpling: its colour, its face and its hat.
- Your chosen world.
- Any levels the game has downloaded, held in a cache folder, together with a single tag the file server issued so the game can ask whether that file has changed.
None of it is uploaded anywhere. There is no cloud save and no sync, so this data exists on exactly one device until you delete the app.
The one thing the game sends over the internet
Spott3D is fully playable with no connection, but it is not an app that never touches the internet, and we would rather say so than let you find out.
Once per launch it asks a single static file whether new or updated levels are available, at this fixed address:
It is a read-only request. Nothing about you, your device or your progress is sent with it. The only thing it can carry is the cache tag described above, which simply tells the server whether the file it has already seen has changed. If that file lists a level the game does not have, the level itself is downloaded from the same location. Nothing else is requested, ever.
As with any internet request, your device’s IP address is visible to the company hosting that file, which is Google. The game adds nothing to it.
If the request fails, nothing happens — you keep every level you already have, and the game carries on offline.
Children
The game has no chat, no user-generated content, no social features and no advertising software, and it collects nothing that could be shown to anyone. It is equally safe for a child and an adult to play, because in both cases nothing about the player leaves the device.
Deleting your data
Erase all progress, in Settings, clears your progress on the device. Deleting the app removes everything the game has stored, including your settings, your dumpling and any cached levels.
Because nothing about you is stored off your device, there is nothing else for anyone to delete and no request you need to make.
